    Where's the bacon?
Love the comments.... not. I could only roll my eyes at the comments of LEOs not recovering the spent casing and the owner of the firearm in question who should have had the safety on.

    BTW.... this was a revolver.

and then of course the wonderful people who equate carrying, especially carrying in public, with a lack of intelligence. Of course, mention had to be made of the wild west as well.

When? When will people get that accidents do happen and that negligence on the part of one should never be used to restrict those who did not display it?

    Blessings,

I didn't read any of the comments, but my first thought was that THIS guy must be a freaking idiot.

I don't know about you, but I'd have to be doing some pretty freaking crazy gymnastics to get my gun to come out of my holster without me grabbing it and pulling it out. Maybe he had his on upside down or something...?

There's an educated person...Said it was a revolver, they looked around and they couldn't find the spent bullet case.......hmmmm....... wundor whar at cu be?......
I would hope the LEO's in that area know would where to look......and all that was the liberal reporter's blathering.
    I'm wishing......wishing on a star

This wouldn't happen if he had a revolver as they are nice and safe . . . what? . . . oh, nevermind.:D

    Lessons learned:

    1. Don't carry guns in your pockets. It's dangerous.

    2. Don't try to catch falling guns.

Yes, the comments were lovely. The only one that offered any good advice was the individual that suggested you should buy a decent holster to carry your firearm.

Here is something I'm confused about. If this was a revolver, how did it discharge when dropped? Modern double-action revolvers are very safe. Most DA revolvers have had some sort of hammer block built into the lockworks for about 100 years. I realize all firearms are just machines and can have mechanical failures, but unless the lockworks are damaged, this shouldn't happen. Even if it was an auto loader, it shouldn't discharge when dropped. The only kind of revolver that has the potential to fire when dropped is an original style single action. I have to wonder if something else occurred and this is what the individual told the police happened.

I was at the Applebutter festival, this is the first I heard of it. I didn't even bother to read the story in the Bloomington Herald. The Herald is the biggest socialist liberal wacko rag in the state.
They are the ones that started posting the addresses or LTC holders as if they were molesters.

I'll ask around about what happened and post what I find out if there is anything to add....

Apparently someone dropped their pistol at the festival in Spencer leading to an accidental discharge. Luckily no one was injured.
