I have some accurate #9 laying around and was wondering if I could use it for 38 spl? The bullets I would be using are 158gr FMJ. Just wanting to know if anyone has tried it/has loading info or if I just need to go get some #2.

I don't see any data for it in my books, even with +P loadings.... I would say it would be best to trade it to someone with a .357, .41, or .44 mag.... It is also a good powder for .357 sig...

I've used a lot of AA#9 for magnum loads, but it is too slow a powder for 38 special loads. A faster powder is more appropriate.

As everyone else mentioned, something faster would be more appropriate. I use Accurate #9 for 357 Mag, 44 Mag, 357 SIG, and 10mm Auto, but for 38 Special I like Universal and Power Pistol.
