With all due respect, that isnt out of line. It gave me a chuckle, and I have raging ADHD. :chillpill:

I see you only have about 60 posts... get used to "disrespectful" comments like this. He was talking about his child's ability to own a gun down the road, not that his child was dead or dying.

How many kids with add does it take to change a lightbulb? Hey, wanna go ride bikes? :):

glad I have only wasted my time with 60 posts because I will not get used to disrespectful comments pertaining to children

Getting the proper food on a consistent
basis along with exercise and other mind engaging activities can work wonders. Sound like you have a pretty good doc.
Big pharma loves acting like boys are wild and need
to become geldings when they were meant to be stallions.
If I can find some of the research for other solutions I have in the past, I'll post it asap.
Another big problem is that the classroom setting of
America is set up for the way girls learn, not boys.
Guaranteed they would have said I had it too these days, but back then my parents knew better.

OP.....GREAT!!!! Sounds like you're already thinking it thru, like it said before the med my boy is on works good to focus while at school and by the time he gets home he is all back to his wild self

Thanks! We used the Conners and Vanderbilt tests for diagnosis. His pediatrician only starts at the lowest possible dose regardless of weight. We will be performing assessments every 2 weeks with dr visits on the 3rd week of each month. This will be done as long as necessary. I am glad that you are seeing success without alter his personality.

I have been diagnosed with ADHD and can confidently tell you that medications have done wonders for me. But only if the you or the child has had a correct diagnosis for ADHD. Different medications react differently to everyone, so it may take some time to find the right medication to help you child. All i can say is have patients and you will find the one you kid needs to help them out. There are holistic ways of treating adhd but right now is not the time nor the place for that.
But find yourself a specialist that specifically deals with child ADHD, it will mean the difference and worth the extra cost. (Not all doctors are medication hounds)

I have ADHD and Aspergers and took a bunch of medicine for it as a child, I had a family psychologist that we would talk to and would prescribe things like concerta and whatnot. The H part of it kinda dropped off when I got older but the ADD part has stuck around, I haven't taken medication for this since high school since I felt it would better for my health in the long run not to anymore.

I didn't have a problem getting my LTCH, your son should be good to go.

Wow, Nevernoluck2 took this thread south pretty fast. Is calling a bunch of people "dickheads" against the rules or is it only bad if you single one person out...? Anyways, this was a good thread and a great topic.

As a parent of a child with ADD/ADHD, I am always concerned about his future as we deal with medications, psychiatrists, and issues at school. Although I don't know any of you, personally, it's still comforting to know that he can grow and remain a positive part of his community as a gun owner and 2A supporter.

You do know what the purple meant in his post, correct? If not, you'll note that is an INGO standard for not being serious.

You may need to HTFU to hang around, but I think you will find it worthwhile if you do.

My brother was diagnosed adhd/add and is an Avon officer of three years, and worked as a corrections officer for four before that. Only glitch he's ever had was having to present his rx's to the department's hr department.

As a mom of a child with adhd also, I'm a firm believer in strict, regularly reinforced rules of safety.

    reiterate reiterate reiterate

They should be able to recite them in their sleep :-D
