Advice on adding another caliber to my preps

SKS all the way. I have had mine for over ten yrs now and wouldn't trade it for anything. If you do I'd suggest possible after market stock-$100. But first and for most get detachable mags-$10-20. Save the reload time of messing with stripper clips. Just research whitch ones actually fit it. Shop wisely for ammo.certain LGS rack up prices double what you can find elsewhere.

In addition to what you have, I'd add a quality AR-15 and stock up on a mix of ammo, including steel-cased
