Has anyone used this stuff? BROWNELLS - AEROSOL BAKING LACQUER

I'm wanting to coat a flash suppressor that is bare steel.

I was going to put etching primer on it first then something like the above lacquer then bake it. But I noticed the website says primer not needed. Is it better to prime? Any recommendations on how to proceed? Or if there is a better alternative to finishing the suppressor? I am looking for a flat black finish.

    Thanks

    Thanks!

Wow, it's expensive. It might be more cost-effective to just purchase a new suppressor for $25. I could always use the coating for unknown future projects though :-)

    Brownsburg,
For the use you have planned, I would suggest getting a can of aerosol engine paint from your local automotive supply store. They are formulated to handle high temperatures and come in several colors in addition to the standard black. Last time I checked you can get a can for less than $10.
