Ak bayonets

I think tthis may be the right section, does anyone know if a standard ak47 bayonet will fit a ak74 with a original ak74 muzzle brake? thanks for any insite.

Mine do not. Only the 74 style do on both of my 74s.

AK bayonets are sort of specific for their models. It depends on how the knife grips the muzzle and the lugs on the bottom of the sight. A standard AK47 (chinese, polish, romanian, is there a "standard"?) won't fit on an AK74, I don't know if the lugs are the same but the muzzle is too different for it to fit. I would hunt for one from whatever country the rifle came from if you're using the stock muzzle.

The Type 2 and Type 3 Ak bayonets will work with the Bulgarian style lugs and brakes. The type 1 will not.
The type 1 may be modified to work.
