AK Hornady V-Max

Just for fun - I bought a box of Hornady V-Max for my AK (5.45x39). Has anyone tried this and if so what did you think? The ammo is way too expensive to use all the time ($24 for 50 rounds) but I'll be interested in seeing if accuracy can be bought.

If anybody can improve it I would say Hornady would be the one. I haven't tried any of this in my 74, it shoots great with surplus believe it or not!

I've yet to try it, but I've seen results with some posts over on Warrior Talk. I'm sure it's much better than surplus.

it's a way hotter round than most other 5.45 ammo. there is noticeably more kick from them.

A customer of ours bought a bunch of it when we first got it in; ran it through two different rifles, along with some Tula and some 7n6. He claimed that in both rifles, his group sizes shrank by 50% with the Hornady.
