just picked up a ras47 myself, everything looks good but havent had a chance to shoot it yet. not loving the blonde color of the wood but thats easily fixed

Check your bolt carrier. If it has an 'X' marked on it, then the rear has been flame heat treated and is a sign of a newer model that should fix some of the issues you might have read about if you read any online reviews. Guess some earlier models had some mushrooming of the bolt from use. Newer ones shouldn't.
