    Think about it

    A) The number of physicians in the U.S. is

    700,000.

    (B) Accidental deaths caused by Physicians

    per year are

    120,000.

    (C) Accidental deaths per physician

    is

    0.171

    Health and Human Services.

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

    Now think about this:

    Guns

    (A) The number of gun owners in the U.S.

    is

    80,000,000.

    (Yes, that's 80 million)

    (B) The number of accidental gun deaths

    per year, all age groups,

    is

    1,500.

    (C) The number of accidental deaths

    per gun owner

    is
    .0000188

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

    So, statistically, doctors are approximately
9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Remember, 'Guns don't kill people, doctors do.'

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN,
    BUT
Almost everyone has at least one doctor.
This means you are over 9,000 times more likely to be killed by a doctor as by a gun owner!!!
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
    Please alert your friends
    to this
    alarming threat.
    We must ban doctors
before this gets completely out of hand!!!!!

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Out of concern for the public at large,
    We withheld the statistics on
    lawyers
for fear the shock would cause
people to panic and seek medical attention

Yes! now we can finally move ahead and ban doctors. Let's make sure we add hospitals into the mix since they make a huge number of deadly errors as well! woot! now we are cooking with gas!

Good grief. Apples and oranges. Doctors also save a much larger number of people on a daily basis, or improve the health of people on a daily basis than guns do.

What is the relative risk benefit ratio?

    So...What will Congress Do?

Yes, that is an alarming statistic. I wonder if our "feel good" legislative bodies will do with that information. Pass a law which requires a doctor to see no more that 7 patients a day? Make it illegal to have a doctor without a full patient background check? Eliminate all free medical clinics?

I can only say we must fire doctors when they make their first mistake. People's lives are in their hands, after all, so we cannot tolerate overly cocky doctors killing people, ruining families, and acting like they are so much better than the rest of us.

Plus, they get to cut people open. I'd get in SOOO much trouble if I cut someone open, even if they said it was ok. Why should they be a special class? I've got just as much right to cut someone open as some fancy pants "doctor", is he better than me just because he paid someone for "medical school", if he's even a real doctor?

Dangerous and a threat to our liberties, that's what I see when I see that white coat and stethoscope.
