A Kansas City, Missouri, man faces felony sexual assault charges after he allegedly raped a woman on a city sidewalk in broad daylight.

According to police, Melvin L. Jackson, 49, allegedly had sex with the unconscious woman on a sidewalk outside of a vacant business at 3400 Troost around 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

Two witnesses who flagged down a patrol car say that they saw the woman curled up in a fetal position, with Jackson on top of her with his pants and underwear around his ankles, having sex with her.

When Kansas City Missouri Police arrived on the scene, authorities say that Jackson told them, "I thought that lady was dead."

So let me get this straight:

Guy is just walking down the sidewalk and finds a female laying on the sidewalk. He thinks to himself, "She's dead......I think I'll throw her some bone."

    Really?!?!?!

Honestly........this should surprise me, but sadly it doesn't.

Maybe it's your profession, but cynical as I am, I was still surprised.

Oh.....I'm sure you are right. And not just this profession, I started working on an Ambulance when I was 16 and have been in either EMS or LE since.

So, people walked straight past an unconscious woman on a sidewalk infront of a business in broad day light and didn't help her until a guy got on top of her?

Our society is going to s***.

its to bad the woman wasn't armed. it would have been perfect for her to wake up and shoot the mf'er. this is so sick and sad. hopefully when he goes to prison (if they don't give him the death penalty, wishful thinking) the other inmates rape him so viscously that he can't sit down for months.
