    I'm looking at alloy frame 1911s and can find them with and without ramped barrels. Obviously a steel feed ramp is going to outlast an aluminum one, the question is will an aluminum one outlast me. Anyone ever wear out an alloy feed ramp, and if so how long did it take. Also, with what kind of ammo, it would seem that HPs would be harder on the ramp than hard ball.

    If you run into a problem AllenM can put a install steel ramp insert. I wouldn't concern myself with it until it happens.
