I've been debating on picking up an M&P Sport model from a local dealer for a decent price. In the process of trying to talk the wife into it, I pulled up a few stores for price comparison, and everyone is sold out with no ETA on re-stock. It only makes me want to buy it more. Am I being paranoid? Am I missing the boat?

Paranoid of what? missing what boat? you aren't supposed to have guns
on boats. It's Illegal to hunt on one, so if you're doing that I understand
    your paranoia.

After reading/watching the news everyday and contemplating whats been happening, I find myself wondering the same thing. Have I become more paranoid or is the world just getting crazier or are we just hearing about everything more and more? But, since there was a double homicide in Valpo last week, I'm voting for the world is getting crazier...

Paranoid that prices will continue to rise, as inventories continue to disappear. Maybe I'm getting caught up in the frenzy, but I don't see prices coming down on guns or ammunition any time soon.

Palmetto State had them for $619 for a few minutes earlier this week.

I have a Sport. It is a good gun, if you see one for south of $650 and it is in stock, I'd buy it.

Got mine about a year ago from BGF for an excellent price.

These have not been staying in stock for long since they came out.

Don't know if you're missing the boat or just don't have both oars in the water. Sorry-just kidding.
But I'm not sure I understand your question.

I goofed, major. I walked in expecting to find an M&P 15 Sport for $549. Turns out that was last week's SALE price. Their actual price (on the ONE M&P Sport they had) was just under $700. I bought into the "GET YOURS BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!" mentality that's infecting some social circles. Hook, line, and sinker.

So I bought a shotgun to make myself feel better. :D

Those prices are WAY more than my LGS. :dunno:

I evidently missed the 'sport' part of your post. I thought you meant handguns - I thought man, there's no way his LGS can beat $450 for a full size M&P by very much.

I really wish gun companies would stop using such terrible naming conventions.

He wants to take his guns out on a boat to protect them from 5 year old girls, but now worries about losing them all in a tragic boating accident.
