I have 3 girlfriends one of them who is 29yrs has a pierced lip and a tattoo on her hip another girlfriend who is 25 has a tattoo on her backside and the other GF who is 36yrs has just her ears pierced but she is close to my age of 40 so I think age does have a little to do with it.
Back when I was single, I had a "rule" for myself: If I met someone who had a tattoo, I'd not put them in the "want to get to know better" category. However, if I met someone & got to know them a little bit (and wanted to continue) and THEN discovered there was a tattoo (or two, etc), I'd not DQ her.
Preemptive DQ, yes.
I've also not gotten a tattoo because if I didn't want my future wife to have one; why should I allow myself to have one? Right hypocritical, me thinks...
As far as facial piercings? I've only met a handful of women who I think have had their looks enhanced with other non-ear piercings. All of these have been very small nose-stud piercings. Of course, I even think that it's really easy to have way too many holes in ears, too.
Like has been said: It's all about personal choice. Subjective at best.
Facial piercing, hell no! Tattoos on the face, HELL NO!
My wife has her ears, had her belly pierced before she got pregnant, but took it out, is she really didnt think it was appropriate for a mother to have a belly ring. She also has a tattoo on her lower back, AKA "Tramp Stamp."
Im ok with these, but nothing more.
Btw Im only 25, so the age aint it buddy, its just your preferences.
