I was born in the "D" and grew up on the North West side, walking to and from Edgar A. Guest Elementary School (now re-named Bertha Bethune School) from Kindergarten through Sixth Grade each day was like dodging the Lions on the Serengeti (no pun intended). Go to www.freep.com and read the Detroit daily paper............oh todays headline TWO LADIES FORCED AT GUNPOINT INTO CAR TRUNK AT INTERSECTION, I wonder how those two gals are doing right about now?!?
I seen this awhile back... it really is an amazing story. This happened a couple of years ago and I seen on television about 3 months ago where he finally got to meet the off duty officer for the 1st time after the incident, that found him, called 911 and helped in the ambulance.

That happen on the east side not to far from where I grew up. Cumberland area back in the fall I believe is when that happened.
Just google "Jeremy Crane Cumberland"
It was he and his 7-yr old niece that were killed.

When I was a college Athletic Trainer, we had a kid in the Sports Information Director program who'd watched his brother get shot & killed, while in their front yard, by a random drive-by! It really affected this kid!
