Just picked this up today at the library. Looks like a great read! Has anybody heard of Volckmann before?

Yes, he is very famous in the P.I.

His story is well known in the gun culture for his "writing the book" on conventional warfare and his use of improvised firearms. (Edit: I need to add that Simeon Cortes was the armourer. If I do not rhino will never forgive me!)

Another man with a like story is Wendell Fertig. Fertig escaped the invading Japanese, took to the hills, made himself a general and started an army.

His story is kinda told in WEB Griffin's Behind the Lines. (Yes, I know, but it is a fun read. I like junk fiction every know and then).
