American police cars in France

I'm leaving for France Tuesday. That's a part of the states I won't miss. No offense officers. But it always a little unnerving seeing you back there.

Well I can't afford a brand new IMPD car.

Too much miles on them?

That LAPD car used to be a real LAPD car, then it was sold as a used car, painted yellow and used as a taxi in Los Angeles.
The owner painted it back to black and white when he got it imported to France.
All the decals are custom work.





It's part of the new gear each patrol officer is now getting equipped with.
Before the 2015 Paris attacks only special units had rifles.

Now plain clothes officers and regular units are getting issued plate carriers, ballistic helmets and HK-G36 rifles to respond to active shooters before SWAT gets here.

I wouldn't want to be the guy on the far right with a rifle muzzle about 3 centimeters away from his head.

Also the guy in the middle has his pistol pointed directly at the photographer.

Don't underestimate those Citroëns. Some were powerful interceptors. Some had Maserati engines too.
And all of them were goofy looking.

I used to drive a Maserati Citroen and it was awesome. Hydraulic shocks were cool too.

Ya-
Ours you could control the fronts or the rears or both together. We used to freek people out.
Turn the car off and it all goes down and people would think we had a flat.

I think it was called Hydropneumatic suspension or something like that.

That's the current model they use on the highway as an interceptor.

They are now testing a newer 500 HP model.
