Under current rules, agents must open such an inquiry before they can search for information about a person in a commercial or law enforcement database. Under the new rules, agents will be allowed to search such databases without making a record about their decision.

Now the FBI's revised document will ease rules further. For example, instead of being required to formally open assessments on subjects before conducting searches for information, agents may do so without keeping a record.

Restrictions on the administration of lie-detector tests will be relaxed, as will searching people's garbage, when it comes to evaluating a subject's potential use as an FBI informant.

The Constitution and Bill of Rights were rendered moot long ago. They're just slowly whittling away at them so as not to rile up the people, as would happen if they did it all at once.

Notice I did not say to the right. the extremes are not what our founders wanted for this country. Common sense, personal protection from governemntal abuses and responsability for ones self are what we need. Letting the FBI have unfettered access to find infractions of the law is rediculuos! What the hell did they do befoe today, find lawbreakers by accident? 9/11 was the death knell for our freedoms. The Patriot act was the blueprint for the end. The TSA and DHS are the testing phase.
