I've shot the Ruger single six .22 the Blackhawk in 357 AMD Super Blackhawk in .44 Love them all. I want an Uberti as I cannot justify the price of a Colt. Thoughts on Colt vs Uberti? Or any input on Ruger
Seems if I want to look at it, buy the Uberti. If I want to shoot it, get the Vaquero. Does that about sum it up?
I shoot CAS. I have Rugers and Ubertis.
Many folks have Uberti and many have Rugers.
Both can be beautiful and fancy.
The Ruger is built like a tank. It also is safer. During the loading process on any firearm that is a Colt clone, the hammer has to be drawn back to the second notch to spin the cylinder. The normal loading is load one, skip one, load four, lower the hammer down on an empty chamber. The Ruger Vaquero doesn't require cocking the hammer to load it. Just opening the loading gate allows the cylinder to spin. When loading the Vaquero all that is required to to open the loading gate, load one, skip one, load four, close the loading gate and turn the cylinder one more position and its resting on an empty chamber. This isn't much of a difference until someone make a mistake and their thumb slips off the hammer while trying to carefully lower it. Plus Rugers are made in the USA.
If you want a SAA on par or above Colt with out of the box quality, check out the SAR by Standard Mfg. It is made in the USA by former USFA and Colt employees. Badger Creek Firearm in Mooresville is a dealer and has a few in stock that will make you drool.
I checked out SAR by Standard Mfg. They make Colts look like budget guns.

Oh yeah, tried to get a range report for everyone but the lead melted halfway to target today
