I found my Dads old 78 f150 ranger lariat 4x4 in E. Kentucky and brought it back here to northern Indiana last year. I remember the truck when I was a kid, it's sure good to have it back in the family. Still only has 69,000 miles on it, I did some body work and paint but it didn't need any mechanical or interior work. Air conditioning is even ice cold.
    Here is a few pics...

One of my all time favorite trucks. Very nice job on the restore!
In my high school years (late 80's) the 76-79 Chevy and Ford p/u's, along with Bronco's were the vehicle of choice (I drove a 78 Bronco). Eaton Corp was huge in our small town, so it seems the dad's were really into old trucks, and they made sure there son's were driving some of the sweetest trucks I had ever seen. In fact, it looks like a couple of guys started their own business @ buildabronco.com.

    Nice Job.

    You should be proud.
That era of trucks are classics to me and I always enjoy seeing
them cleaned up and back on the road.

It's even more cool knowing who had it and getting it back

    I had a 77 with the inline 6.
    Still miss it.

That is a great looking truck! My dad and grandfather both drove 79's for many years and they are my favorite. Most people dream of restoring a muscle car, but I have alway thought that when I get a chance it will be a 70's ford truck for me. Again, really good story and a great truck.

    I used to have a '74 F-250 Ranger...
    Miss that old rust bucket...

I have a friend in Central Texas that Rodded his.

He took a '78 Ford Crew Cab Daully and dropped a 7.3 Powerstroke in it with a 6 speed Manual Transmission and a splitter axle. When you see it from the out side it looks like a nice old '78, but when you crack the doors and look inside it is a beast... I'll see if he can send me some pics.

    A holler in Kentucky
I had a 77, the guy I bought it from had done a lot of work on the engine, that thing would rumble the neighborhood when I fired her up. Wish I still had it. That's an awesome makeover!:yesway:

    Very nice looking shorty!!

I've owned my fair share of 73-79's. Most were F250 or 350 4x4's set-up for mudding. Still currently own a 77 F250 2wd Supercab Camper Special with a 460. Used it mainly as a tow rig for my jeep for several years.
