I've paid my own taxes for 50 years and not once did I see your name on my tax check.

What about paying taxes for 50 years makes you think anyone else should pay for your healthcare now? Do you think that your healthcare costs magically went from $1,100 a year to $52? Where does that other $1048 now come from?

What is it about paying taxes for 50 years that makes anyone think the rest of the country owes anyone anything?

No, Its Obamacare through the market place.

Your response didn't answer mine. Do you have a subsidy?

I have never seen a policy that low before with the marketplace. Can you let us know which plan you have so we can call get it on it? What is your co-insurance, max out of pocket, co-pays, etc?

My anthem policy for a healthy person doubled the monthly premium AND max out of pocket for the HSA policy.

Nearly everyone who is unsubsidized experienced at least a 100% increase in fees, yet yours went down 92%. You realize this is a MASSIVE outlier from what the entire rest of the nation experienced, right? Any idea why?

Call the market place. They have all the answers. I'm just trying help someone get cheap healthcare. I'm tired of arguing with people who don't have a clue. It's there like social security and medicare. If you don't want it, don't take it. I can't believe that only the Liberals are smart enough to take it. If you choose to pay more I'm not going to loose any sleep over it.

Hank I would also love to know the coverage of the plan you have. We are looking at the ministry plans also right now, this thread came at the right time. God is good about timing.

Maybe liberals "take it" because their personal ethical system allows them to believe that the rest of the world owes them.

Don't forget that Mitt Romney set up public healthcare in Mass long before Obamacare. If Romney had won the election and made his healthcare nation wide, instead of Mass. only, you would have thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I am guessing that Hank is receiving a very large subsidy but will probably not come back here to admit it after realizing that the rest of us are paying for his insurance.

YOU NEED TO WAKE UP. My Anthem family policy went from $1100 month to $52 a month under Obamacare. both policies were with Anthem and the Obamacare policy had better benefits. Thats why its called affordable. But your old enough to make your own decisions.
    Another moocher.

We want to know about YOUR coverage. But I bet you won't be forthcoming with the true cost.

Have we met? What makes you think I care whether socialists have an R or a D by their names?

Interesting topic. I've heard of these before and tagging for interest.

As an aside, for those that may not know...we didn't know about this until somebody at the Bedford Medical Center clued us in...If you're in a "high deductible" insurance plan, when you get your bill, let the billing office know. They'll knock off a significant percentage off of the bill. But you have to call them each time and you have to wait until after you get your bill--at least that's how it's been working for us.

And Hank, I too would like to know the particulars of your insurance plan. Why would you not want to help all the rest of us figure out how to get a $50-something-a-month insurance plan?

Because he can't get one for $50 unless we're paying $300 directly AND paying increased income taxes.

    $50/month is not "insurance". It's a co-pay for welfare.

Well...I was hoping he'd stumbled upon one of those "weird tricks" (like you see on these web sites advertising banners) that the government and big insurance doesn't want you to know about for savings $1000/year.
