I am looking to add several security cameras to my home and have been looking around on the internet. Looking for some basic cameras (3-4) to mount outside on eaves, and back porch as well as driveway. I have been looking at the X10.com - Security Cameras, X10 Home Security, Wireless Camera, Home Automation, Electronics and More! website at the Sentinal Pro Cameras which have Pan, Tilt, Zoom, but the pricing seems very low... Does anyone have any experience with these cameras? (I bought a couple INSTINCT Universal TV Remotes and have been very pleased with them...)

I also like the X-10 System because it allows the ability to remotely turn on Lights in other rooms (automated home) from the remotes, allowing the ability to indirectly "Light up" the rest of the house during the "bump in the night" Scenario. (for example, being in the bedroom, and remotely being able to turn on lights in all the rooms downstairs before ever leaving the room. Might spook a prospective intruder, before ever having to leave the security of the bedroom... and the 12 ga. ) :):

    Looking for the following requirements:

    1. Low light capability
    2. Recording of cameras to DVR or Computer
    3. Remote access/control via Internet to I-Phone.
    4. Color preferred but B/W may be ok if priced right.
    5. Motion detection and automatic recording.
    6. Weather resistance
    7. Cost and ease of setup and installation.
    8. Power needs. Prefer being able to power from 110 V, with battery backup.

Leaning toward the Sentinel Pro which has the protective dome, so I am particularly interested in anyone who has experience or installed these.

Thanks for any suggestions or comments on security cameras, particularly the X-10's.

I would strongly suggest you look at cameras that have IR emitters.

My camera system has the ability to 'see' in total darkness and pick up details, show faces, etc. I have 6 cameras with IR and 1 camera that is a 'low light' camera. The low light camera can NOT even come close to picking up the images that the IR cameras are capable of capturing.

Are the X10 cameras vandal and weather proof? Good quality armored dome security cameras designed for outside use cost about $200 and can withstand hits from a baseball bat and sub zero temperatures like we get here in Indiana.
