    ODB2 doesn't cover it? I got one for error codes, so I'm no expert, but I'd think others could do that without the risk of Ford sucking you in for a couple thousand for extra repairs.

    I have a generic OBD2 reader and on my 97 Powerstroke it is all goofed up. It read CEL on, when it is not. And no codes when I know there are. Maybe I will try it again some time. I got the truck figured out since then.
