Purchased in January of 2020. Only took out to the range twice before COVID hit and then back into the safe for the past several years. Took it back out recently and tried out the new Thril Gen 2 35 round MPX magazines. Worked / ran flawlessly and was so much fun to shoot. Ordered some upgrades that are in transit, Radian Raptor charger, Radian Ambi Safety, and a Timney MPX trigger.

Now I am considering sourcing a SIG 8” barrel kit, 8” hand guard , and pistol brace to turn it into a dual purpose gun.

Any insights on best place to source MPX parts since I have been out of the game for several years?

Appreciate your input and thanks for looking! Cheers!

Wife loves hers! It is a blast at the range and very accurate. We have only upgraded the trigger and I had ACME do that. We have also bought additional magazines from them.

I would start here for most parts: https://inleadwetrust.com/

I like the Midwest handguard below.

    Absolutely love my 8" MPX!

Here is a picture, I believe was taken at the NRA convention in Indy. It’s dated from 2014.
It’s the MPX-SD that the ATF shut down before it ever got produced.
It’s the look that I was going for on mine.

    What I ended up with

I really wanted the SD look like the prototype, so I had my 8” barrel cut and threaded at 4” and added an HK 3 lug. The suppressor is an AAC Ti-Rant .45

How short it really is without a can on it.
The Buckmark pistol has a 10” barrel.

Is that a rifle configuration currently? It looks like it but at the same time the barrel doesn't look quite 16"? I say that because if you want to make it into an 8" barreled gun you'll have to make it an SBR. If it was transferred as a rifle it has to remain a rifle if I'm not mistaken

Yes, this was transferred as a rifle with a 16” barrel. I will need to submit a Form1 to convert it to an SBR. Either that or purchase a new MPX K pistol and spend even more $$$.

Has anyone used Silencer Shops eForm service for a Form1 or did you handle / mail in on your own?
It seems like using their electronic kiosk, dealer network / services for a fee would be worth the $40.

    Cheers!

Never used SS for a Form 1 but a Form 4 is incredibly easy and hassle free on the kiosk.

I have also paper filed. Really not a big deal. Fingerprints can be done at home, picture is easy, double check the form. Send it in with $200...wait.

    SRD-9?

never mind. Saw a later post.

    SRD-45 gang!

If you ever want to try an SRD-9 - I know a guy...
I sorta "ended up" with an extra 45 so it became a dedicate can for the MPX.

IIRC, I got the cans as the SRD line was being discontinued by Sig. Would have liked an SRD-9 but wasn't available, at the time.

All upgrade / goodies installed today. Timney trigger is very, very nice. Magpul K2+ pistol grip is better than the factory SIG pistol grip IMO.

I may try a side folding stock next… post up if you have one / have experience with side folders.

    Cheers!
