You can probably google it but at one time there was a cool document showing where illegally possessed weapons confiscated in Chicago came from. A scary number game from lafayette. Anyway, it was very common that a girlfriend or female relative was the straw purchaser so I doubt that has much appeal to a prosecutor.

Think it was the Chicago Chief a while back that said straw purchases a big problem.
But they had so many, and just didn't have the time/money/manpower to go after them.

    ?????

Felonies. People being shot and killed.

But yeah, blame Indiana's supposedly inadequate gun laws.

    Illegal guns...........
Many guns are stolen and if the owner doesn't know the serial number...............it doesn't get on "the list".
Then there's folks that grind off the serial numbers.

    But had a home robbery.
    Meth heads nearby did it.
Cops caught em later, and the guns still in their possession.
Old Model 41 Smith and a Desert Eagle MKVII.............the druggies ground the serial numbers off so they were not legal for return.
Hear of some real classics found but ruined in similar.

Shoulda hung the crackheads just for doing that.
