I was given a coffe can full of loaded 44-40 rounds, is it worth the time or trouble to pull them apart for the brass? I know the stuff isn't cheap, I was going to bribe the kid with a speedway slurpie to pull, then maybe trade it for some 38/357 lead. What is 44-40 brass going for?

Yep, I reload for the 44-40, both light target loads and full-house hunting rounds. Factory ammo is pricey but the brass, when you find it, is not overly expensive. Starline makes some great stuff.

I've got a bunch of 38 and 357 brass...I'll trade you 2:1 for any empty 44-40 cases (deprimed) that you have.

I could use some more 357. You don't cast lead do you? I would much rather have the lead.

Nope, I don't cast any lead bullets. How many 44-40 cases do you have? I'll have to check n' see how many 357 I've got.

Unfortunately just 3 the rest of the can is filled with 38-40. They are crimped tight too maybe 100-150 rounds. You can have them if you want them, they aren’t worth my time.

Why'd ya go n' get my hopes up like that?! :D

Maybe someone else will come along that owns a 38-40. Thanks anyway.

Sorry I reached into the can blind and managed to grab 2 of the only 3 44-40's in the can. I am trying to clean out enough stuff in my basement to make me a reloading station.

Anybody want these 38-40 rounds? I did pull a couple apart and the powder still looks good, I suppose they could be shot the lead on the tip is oxidizing.
