I still don't think it was our site that was the problem.....

Can confirm, the infolinks ad engine no longer seems to be showing on INGO for non-members.

"Problem" is a matter of opinion, I guess. INGO's owners wouldn't see it as a problem, and may have removed it for different reasons. Security-minded users might see it as a problem, given the malicious and misleading intent of such ad engines.

Yeah, it was a defacto INGO problem. INGO wasnt serving the ads per se, but the ad vendor Kev contracted with did. I saw it myself the ONE time I was logged out. Never seen it before on any other site, never seen it since. (logging into INGO)

    Regardless, its fixed.

Not me. I'm always signed in though. I was thinking they went away if you signed in? Or maybe that was just on certain platforms/browsers?

now. it then changes to job ads like above picture?

    using my phone.
    browser is VIA by google
    I logout after each visit.

before I can login I get this

Any reason why? For whatever reason, occasionally my phone will log me out, but I don't do it intentionally. Not even sure what browser I use. It's whatever the default was on my Samsung phone. I hardly ever get on the internet (other than checking email on the Yahoo app) on my phone though unless I'm bored, like waiting on a doctor appointment or something.

I logout because my gmail account tracks every page I visit because use my browser instead of gmail app.

That's why I don't use mine much (the tiny keyboard makes it too hard to post on here, and I generally just am reading emails and replying when I get back to a regular computer).

You're running around your backhand. Why not fix the real problem (gmail)

    really?

android phones require gmail to access google play apps........

    each & every one......

gmail app is the worst! tracks you 100% with gps which stores visit.
    which roads you travel....

delete gmail app is what I have.

but use a browser to access gmail with automatic logout when browser closes.

looks like ingo had some deal with infolinks & button dodge as pop???

    not sure how

I'm sorry, I don't get what gmail has to do with reading INGO online in a browser, nor what a playstore app has to do with anything (full disclosure, I'm iPhone). Can't you just use chrome to go to the INGO site and utilize the forum read-only, or log in for full privileges? Are you trying to limit data?

And what does logging out have to do with not being tracked? If you visit logged in, they still know you are here. If you log out, its because you arent going to be coming here, so logging out is not needed because you wont be here to be tracked. But once again, if you are coming here, logged out or no, they are still tracking you when you are here.

Logging out while you are not using does nothing (that I can wrap my head around) to keep them from tracking your non-use of INGO. The only logic I could see is if you were worried about the device crawling INGO under your username while in the background, sending data about INGO to them behind your back.

Can you explain further how they are tracking use when you arent using it? Did I ask that right because I lack understanding of the issue so much I'm having trouble trying to ask more questions.

And if you are so paranoid about google/gmail tracking you, buy a non android phone. I have to jump through hoops to use chrome on my iDevices.
