I am thinking it would be more practical to buy a slide stop to your liking rather than having one done.

Oh yea. You can buy some mighty fine looking pieces very reasonable.
I don't price other people's work but I'm sure even a very cheap hourly rate would quickly turn to more than a quality replacement to your liking.

There is probably a thousand places to get what you want. I bought a nice Ed Brown with checkering locally for around $20 give or take a buck. Stainless was a tad higher IIRC.
