I have a couple guns Im prepping for hunting this year. One is a Ruger M77 bolt action 44. I want to try to reload some of the FTX Leverrevolution bullets. I would like to know if anyone has tried some different pwders and if you adapted you bullet seat or bought one.
    Thanks for sharing.

The XTP's get my vote to.I'm loading 20.0gr of 2400 using starline brass and winchester large primers with the 240gr XTP.Can knock the bulls-eye all day long at 100yards using my H&R .44mag rifle with a 1.5-4.5 bushnell scope

I don't load for .44, but in other handgun cartridges I decided it wasn't worth it. The BC of the FTX bullets isn't any better than the XTP's (at least for pistol catridges). You have to trim which gives you less room for powder. Less powder means less velocity. Plus it ruins your brass for any other bullets.

The FTX rifle cartridges from Hornady (LeveRevolution) have meaningful performance benefits, especially with the proprietary powder blends, but I don't find any benefit in pistol cartridges for the handloader.

I've taken my last few deer with Winchester White Box 240 gr SP from WalMart. Accurate and effective, out of my lever gun. Longest shot was about 150 yards.

i use the ruger 7744 and a h&r single shot 44 mag, they both shoot excellent ..I hate to say it but the h&r gets better groups than the ruger. The trigger in the ruger sucks though ....i can get 1in or less at 100 yds no prob ...most times all are touching
