Anyone carry in North Carolina?

Anyone ever go to North Carolina and if so how do you legally transport? I went to handgunlaws.us but dang if it ain't confusing. Can it be in the passenger compartment while your travelling if it's visible? I gather it's a must inform state? Anyone with the cliff notes?

Seems I'm good to go through Kentucky and Tennessee with it in the center console and I don't have to inform??

Your LTCH is recognized in KY, TN, and NC. In NC you must inform, signs carry legal weight, and schools, including universities are off limits. There may be more, but that's the tl/dr version.
