Anyone Ice Fishing Yet?

Just curious. I'm itching to get some fresh gills. How is the ice? I would like to think its getting thick enough to get out on.

I checked in the shallow part of a small pond (8 acres) today, found it to be about 2 1/2". I will give it another day or so then check

Reports from the guys at work are about 4 inches in the Syracuse area. I'm going in the morning to scope it out. Four is the magic number for this fat kid.

Guy at work has a small private pond around Danville he had 5" on his pond. Caught about 75 BlueGill.

Thanks for the info. Im gonna go test a small 3 -4 acre pond in Jennings Co. today. Pond has a few springs in it and always seems to freeze later than others.
