I have a Glock 17 with the EXO nickel boron finish on the slide. It's my EDC and the slide has gotten quite dull. Anyone know how to polish it back to shiny?

Not sure if this will work on a EXO Glock but I have seen a few users on youtube have good luck polishing up stainless steel guns such as 1911's by using Flitz.

Send it to me, I'll do it for you. Even though it a Glock. :D

This is mine and I polished it myself. Polishing metal is one of my favorite pass times.

flitz is a great polish, but it is abrasive, so on a stainless gun it will polish it up to a mirror shine, but on a blue (or a exo finish glock) it will remove the finish leaving untreated metal showing leading to rust

I sent you a PM earlier. As I stated, I work very close w/ the UCT / Failzero folks. I spoke w/ them this afternoon, and they said you need to contact them w/ your serial # in hand. UCT contact 1-772-872-7115

I was told today that there are some ex-disgruntled UCT employees that made a bunch of copy cat EXO Glocks. Is there anyway you could text or email me a picture of the slide? 317-370-6021 or carl_hutzler@praxair.com (best if you text)

One question... Is the slide a matte (dull) finish, or is it shiney / polished as stated? The Glock should have been sold w/ a matte finish slide and a polished barrel.

If the slide is a matte finish, here is what I would do:
    -Disassemble the slide
    -clean / degrease slide
-lightly scrub slide w/ a Scotch Brite pad
    -VERY lightly glass bead blast

I thought the nickel boron (EXO) finish actually impregnated the metal, as opposed to being a surface finish? :dunno:

The finish was bright matte color when I bought it, but not as shiny as stainless. It's gotten very dirty and dull looking. I've tried contacting Talo Inc. and FailZero, they want me to send my slide in to refinish it. That's not an option for me. I dont want to pay to have it redone and I dont have a backup for EDC at the moment.
