Is there any types of matches held near Lowell (NW Indiana Lake County). IDPA appeals to me and would like to try it out sometime. Maybe some other informal matches. Any info would be appreciated.

The closest drive i have is one hour. Sometimes i drive 3 hours to shoot. Longer if it is an out of state major

North Porter Conservation Club in Chesterton, Moose lodge in Chicago Heights (I'm a member) we have informal matches outdoors spring thru fall.

Yes, North Porter County Conservation Club is a good range for local matches. NPCCC - North Porter County Conservaton Club

Also, Wildcat Valley might be just about as close for you. They put on some nice matches too. They are the only ones around that shoot NRA Action Pistol (Bianchi Cup type matches). Wildcat Valley Rifle & Pistol Club
