My great uncle loved bluegrass. He's ride around with his wife in an RV gong to bluegrass fests and whatnot. One time he even pooped his pants in his RV while my grampa was driving and, since he didn't wear underwear, it leaked out his pants leg and onto the floor. Old people are gross sometimes.
A few years ago at Poppy Mountain Bluegrass Festival, we won a prize to fix dinner for Dr. Stanley and his band. The band was very nice, he and his grandson could have cared less. They did not want to be there.
This is Dave Evans. We did the same for him. He was a great guiy and loved every minute he was there. This is Dave Evans and my friend Mark York. Mark passed away last July 30 at age 46.
Now for the best Bluegrass band out there now. The Steeldrivers. Couple of my favorite songs by them. And to meet them at Poppy Mountain was something.
"Witches of Eastwick"? Don't know if she is considered Appalachian genre. But I kinda like Iris Dement. Can't do the cool youtube stuff yet. Have to call one of the grand kids.

One of my favorite group currently, the Infamous Stringdusters.
Unfortunately the mandolin player left the band about a year ago to return home to wife and child and they've never replaced him.
