Does anyone have an AR-15 action block they would be willing to loan / rent?

I live in Greenfield and need to attach my AR-15 barrel. The one I used to use snapped and given the state of things, don't know I will be doing enough work to purchase another one and the thought of using wood and towels doesn't appeal to me.

    Thanks for your consideration.

    ZbornacSVT where are you located?

I snapped something similar to the DPMS claw and destroyed an upper in the process so I am just a little leery of that type of system.

I am going to try to find someone with a block, but if I can't... I may be reaching out to you!

    Thanks!!!

I'm just south of you in Shelbyville.

How did you snap it? I've built almost a dozen rifles with this block without issues.

It wasn't the DPMS claw, but it was a polymer block.

I was torquing it and >SNAP< the block broke and the upper bent.

    Not a happy moment.

The CLAW is a polymer block...:dunno:

I have zero concerns with using it and it is available for you to use if you wish. I have one for the .308 platform as well.

I know and that's why I was concerned about using another polymer. The one I used wasn't as beefy as the panther but was assured it wouldn't break.

    Never tried the panther.

There are three separate pieces that would need to fail for the upper to snap off....so I think it should be fine.

Saw a nice block at SHOT today. PRI makes a dual block that works for both an AR10 and AR15. Not sure how long they have been doing them, but it was the first time I had seen them.
