Oprah probably has a "feel good'' model. My Budget is under $900. I like the longer barrel, full buttstock, and carry handle iron sights. So, relatively basic.

Those aren't my particular style but I know you can find many around $900.

    Windham Weaponry
    Smith & Wesson M&P
    Palmetto State Armory
    Older Bushmasters

Just a few that come to mind

They are getting easier to find and the prices are getting back to normal.

Have you though about building one yourself? You could at least do the lower and start off with the stock and trigger you want rather than changing them later.

i believe Colt is supposed to me making an A4 clone (finally!). I would love to get one.

A cheaper route would be to buy an upper or build kit from PSA.

take your pick the sky is your limit literally... Everyone is making an AR these days. I bet Paula Deen and Oprah probably have their own AR-15 line.

The Paula Deen AR15s only come in white, FYI.

Well done with the Paula Deen. I've considered building one, but I don't have a lot of time or patience. But it is a good option. I'll check out oak Hill

The big obstacle in finding a "correct" A2 or A4 is getting one without the heavy barrel. I've seen the government profile barrels for sale but most company's put the bull barrel on their uppers and complete rifles. There again, it depends on what you want to do with it.

Target practice. I'm not into competitions. I wouldn't mind having either the gov. profile or heavy barrel.
