Need Help, Want to change the dust cover on my AR and all the instructions I see out there talk about removing a little C clip. Mine does not have that. Instead, the barrel end of the rod has a larger end on it that keeps it from migrating back. Has anyone seen that and how to you get it off?
    Thanks

Ah, one of those. You can back off the hand guard & nut and the pin will slide forward into one of the holes.

Yeah, you're in for a royal PITA if you want to remove that. There's always a Dremel and a cutoff wheel, though...

That looks like an RRA handguard. You'll need a YHM spanner to get the jam nut off that barrel nut.

Midwest Industries and YHM use that same style jam nut. To remove it, you can put duct or electrical tape over the end of a flat tip screw driver, and with a ball peen hammer, give it a few light taps. I never needed the spanner wrench.
