    North Dakota soon...
One was for sale here for, well, foreeeever. I think he wanted $200 for it. M67 was selling it if you want to PM him. He also polished the feed ramp on it and fancied up the front sight with some paint.

That's like buying the ugly puppy in the litter because you feel bad for him..:D
    that gun is just gross!

Say what you want, it points well and is fairly accurate for what it is. Been a long time since I shot it but I could easily ring a license plate at 80 yards with it.

    And HEY!! It's collectible :):

Charter Arms called the AR-7 rifle the Explorer, and the pistol was the Explorer II. They located the barrel's alignment tab and slot in a different place, and maybe made the tab bigger, to keep people from putting the pistol barrel on an AR-7 rifle and having an SBR. If I remember right, they came with 8" barrels, but other lengths were available (6" and 10" maybe?).
The grip holds a spare magazine.
Really light for the size, as you might expect from the AR-7 rifle.

I always thought they looked like a Star Wars Han Solo blaster.

I think someone like Boonie Packer made some bolt-on junk for them.

Stewart's Gun Shop in Bloomington had one around 1981. My then-16-year-old mind must have been thinking it might be a handy gun to keep in the truck on the farm, because I looked at it halfway seriously. I want to say it was around $150. I ended up splurging that day and bought the Remington XP-100 .221 for a hundred more.
    Ah, memories.
