In the last 2 years I've had the rubber/plastic tit in my buffer break off right at the roll pin, anyone have any ideas on what to check?
I really don't want to have to replace the buffer every year.
Just wanted to add-
Last year when this happened a member on here stated they made some of these in college and offered to send me a few, if you see this PM me I didn't save the IM's we exchanged.
Is it possible that your AR is over-gassed? I can't think of anything else that might cause a buffer to fail unless your got two poorly manufactured buffers in a row.
And to be clear, the plastic part is breaking where the pin goes through?
mammynun, I don't think it's overgased, everything seem to be working correctly, no excessive wear.
The plastic tit is breaking at the back of the buffer body/ at the roll pin that holds it in
If this issue persists, why don't you just buy a few extra buffer bumpers? A quick Google search shows that they're relatively inexpensive (depending upon supplier) and readily available.
Even with the abundance of replacement parts, I think that if you continue to break this part, then there is most likely another problem that needs to be solved.
