    :ar15:hey i just had a question about painting or powdercoating my upper and lower of the AR in a flat dark earth i would like the serial numbers to show and the emblems staped into the side of the receiver to show. is this at all possible? just just podering a couple ideas. thanks:dunno:

    Don't know about powder coating, but it is definitely possible with paint (I know, I've seen me do it). Trick is to use the right product and apply it properly.

    I've painted a few guns with Krylon and with the camo paint offered through Brownells. Even after several coats, markings remain quite visible. I've also done a few pistols in Duracoat, but to be honest I prefer the paint. Paint is easier to correct and redo and this comes in handy when doing multiple colors (just keep painting until you're satisfied). Touching up with paint is an easy process as well, just clean and respray.
