I'm confused by your labeling. I consider Big Government types and Socialists to be on the Left and Very Limited Government types to be the ones that are Right. Socialism, Communism, Fascism, Big Government are all incestuous cousins, with the only difference being the level of force used on society. Very Limited Government, but one that would respect and protect our property rights while keeping the playing field equal, is the only thing that would save America!

I don't know a lot about Argentina but it is a democracy and the folks there just re-elected the sitting president, so to an extent they have endorsed her agenda making their national direction and present conditions of their own choosing.

If you read FerFal's blog , he posted about the election your referring to and it would seem that the "election" wasn't as free as you imply .

It seems as though Barry and his cronies took more than just a page from their "play book" .

To the OP , at best we should hope to be as "stable" as Argentina has been / is .

I am a big fan of Ferfal. My mother-in-law currently lives in Argentina (my wife was born here but both parents are from Argentina). She will not say ANYTHING political on the phone (my mother in law) because of fear. She does talk when she comes here and things are not what they seem in Argentina.

There is no "Right Wing" (as we define it here) in Argentina. There are socialists and communist and that is about it. Evita Botox is setting herself up like Chavez and he even helped fund her first election (the infamous bag of money at the airport scandal). My mother in law told me that Ferfals blog is the most accurate reading of the current situation in Argentina that she has seen.

She is kind of surprised he is still alive to be honest with you.

inducky, I should have been clearer in my explanation to the guys. Thanks.

Ron Paul would be a space alien in Argentina. Mike Pence would be a work of fiction.

There isn't even a Sam Nunn or Zell Miller equivalent in Argentina. The government is the country and both "wings" have a vested interest in expanding the power and authority of the government.

I am very glad that we are a Constitutional Republic and not a democracy.
Democracies destroy themselves readily and in quick fashion, often in flame.
Also, yes, we are rapidly approaching the day when the television set blares out that

"as of two o'clock p.m. today, the law of the land has been instituted for the public safety.
Please remain in your houses for an important economic message.
Anyone out after dusk will be considered an insurgent and summarily executed.
Stay tuned for further details from President-for-Life Obama."

If both "wings" have a vested interest in expanding the power and authority of government, then I wouldn't compare their "Right" wing to what I think our "Right" wing stands for. I envision our "Right" wing to be about a very limited government, not an expanded one with greater power and authority. This is my confusion in your thread.

What constitutes "right wing" is always dependent on the nation you are in. As who sits to the king's right always varies.

It would be a mistake to assume that "right wing" in the USA is universal.
