FISHERS POLICE INVESTIGATE 96TH STREET ARMED ROBBERY

(Fishers, Indiana) – On December 23, 2010 at 4:35am, Fishers Police responded to a dispatched report of an armed robbery at the Circle K gas station located at the intersection of 96th and Allisonville Road. The attendant told arriving officers that a young adult male wearing all black clothing (including mask and gloves) entered the business and immediately displayed a dark colored handgun demanding cash. The teller said he complied and handed the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash from his register.

The suspect then fled on foot to the north toward the adjacent South Bay Condominiums. Carmel Police assisted Fishers PD with a perimeter search and K-9 tracking. The K-9 tracked north into the mentioned condos until it abruptly stopped leading officers to believe that the suspect may have entered a vehicle at that point.

The suspect is further described as black male, approximately 5’10” tall weighing approximately 150 lbs. Although it has been several weeks since Fishers experienced its latest armed robbery, the description and method of this robbery tend to match that of the string of armed robberies that occurred in October.

Fishers Police Detectives are asking anyone with possible helpful information to call (317)773-1282 or anonymously at (317)595-3305.

tough area, that place has been robbed a few times

    +1.

When I took a ridealong with FPD during the Fisher's Citizen's Academy, the officer mentioned that with the old layout of that Shell station, they got robbed all the time. Hasn't been anywhere near as frequent with the new set up, but I guess it's just a matter of time. That area has had quite a bit of crime.

Only one armed robbery in Fishers and it makes the news? When they start having 3 or 4 a night at business along one street I'll get excited. Small towns and their low crime rates....geez.

If they targeted the Starbucks, you'd really see people up in arms, they would have brought out SWAT for that. :yesway:

It's amazing how our perspective gets changed.

If you live by Brookside part that place is nothing. If you live in a Carmel suburb you might be flipping out.

Indy and Fishers are great places to live.

Not that we shouldn't be all over this like green on grass to stop it. Put it in perspective. Stand your ground and push the bad guys out.
