Changes to AR 670-1 Effective June 14, 2011 the PC is the only authorized head gear in ACUs, except when deemed appropriate by the commander or in Class A or Dress Blue uniform. Those authorized to wear the Green, Tan or Maroon beret may continue to do so.

Woohoo!!!!! I hate those damned berets! I'm old school and wore the "PC" back in the day. I applaud the decision. Also, nobody liked the pin on badges. It was always sew on before and everyone has been waiting for that change. I gotta order some sew on badges quick, got drill next weekend!

Good. That was the most useless thing the army ever issued to me. They gave them to us right before I got out of the guard. It was a circus with a few former airborne guys showing us all how to shave, shape them, etc. Of course you couldn't just take it out of the package and put it on your head. Whoever's idea it was to go to the beret should have been forced to stand facing the sun for 8 hours every day until they realize how stupid the beret is for a duty uniform.

no they will keep the Tan. the regular Army is keeping the black they are just only going to wear them with the dress uniforms. Im thrilled about this news. now I dont have to watch some dumb private butcher the proper way to wear it.
