Actually, we are allowed to openly carry rifles and shotguns here in Texas, just not pistols. The reason you can't find an open carry law for those is because there isn't one. Rights aren't bestowed by laws created in legislatures. Laws only serve to RESTRICT rights, not grant them.

Since there is no law AGAINST openly carrying longarms in Texas, the practice is perfectly legal.

Thank you. Sorry it's taken so long to respond.

Since this thread ended, I endured two corrupt trials. The first one ended in a mistrial and in the second one I was found guilty of the class b misdemeanor of "interfering with the duties of a peace officer" even though they could never explain what duties I interfered with. We are in the appeals process waiting on the transcipts - still - from those trials that ended in November. The court is trying to price us out of an appeal by charging us $8000 for transcripts which we need to file a proper appeal. Texas law gives them 120 days to produce those.

The first trial was 4-days, two of that jury deliberation. The second trial they didn't put up all the prosecution witnesses from the first trial because in the first trial they were forced to admit that the arresting officer lied to his supervisor and on his sworn affidavits of probable cause. The second trial lasted two days.
