The caravan is organized by a group called Pueblo Sin Fronteras, and the effort is supported by the CARA Family Detention Pro Bono Project, which includes Catholic Legal Immigration Network (CLIN), the American Immigration Council (AIC), the Refugee and Immigration Center for Education and Legal Services (RICELS) and the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) – thus the acronym CARA
Pueblo Sin Fronteras has been at the game for at least ten years on a smaller scale. I have seen some ink that Soros is the true money man behind the project, but only recently. All the ink is from fringe/hard right sources which i won't link and I cannot find corroboration from less biased sources with the amount of effort I've been willing to devote. Perhaps others will do so
I am ambivalent about blaming Soros. On the one hand, it is exactly the sort of move he would back; but on the other he is the right's bogey man financier just as the Koch brothers are for the left. It's hard to seperate the wheat from the chaff
