    In addition, violence in Japan is rare. The nation as a whole is (lack of a better word) brainwashed by the government and follow the rules to the letter.

    Recall they had emperors for most of their culture. It's only been since the end of ww2 that the western form of .gov is there. So it's a different culture all together.

    Many years ago when I compared murder rates for Tokyo, New York city and few other large cities surprisingly they were more or less the same regardless of firearm laws. Japan is not that well behaved.
