Are there any legal issues if i replace my saiga wooden stock with an ATI side folder-collapasible poly stock, in indiana? excuse my igrorance if this has been talked to death but i'd rather not run afoul of the law just to have a more comfortable weapon

Not affected under Indiana law, but any change made to an "evil foreign weapon" is affected by Federal law... Section 922r specifically...

Gunwiki: 922(r) Worksheet for AK-47 Builds

For example... My SKS is currently in it's unaltered state (other than firing pin), just as it was imported from China, which is not affected by 922r... yet if I change ANY covered part (like the butt stock or even just the magazine), I am then considered to be "building" a weapon and have to add more parts to make the "evil parts" count 10 or less.
