There have been a lot of changes at MCF&G as well. The RO that shared this with me is an Ingo guy and was most gracious.
I have had issue in the past with some of the RO's there and it was almost the end for me being a member. Short of snatching some people up they have no place being in charge of other folks.
I understand the new Pres there is doing a lot to keep the place safe and "OPEN" so I will comply with the new changes. It is just to convenient to have a range that close to home.
I will say this in open forum.....if you are the idiot running .223/5.56 there stop it. Grow up.
I've got the distance for a 25 yd range, but then again picking up free brass when I go to Winamac is great too.
I got a call asking about the .223 dufus a couple of weeks back. Seems that the moron was there after I had spent a half hour one Friday morning running a .45. I shoot ARs out there, but only with a CMMG .22lr kit. They have cameras installed, why don't they just look at them to see who's shooting a .223 out there. I did get barked at by a self appointed RO the other night. Seems that my practice of writing a start and stop time when I get there to save the extra trip back to the clubhouse is wrong. I've been shooting there for years and am just as accurate estimating the stop time as I would be when finishing shooting. He thinks that 'to the minute' accuracy is a safety concern. I had estimated that I would finish at 7:50 and I looked at my watch as I went through the gate. It said 7:51. MCFG seems to be getting to be more and more in the hands of old bullseye shooters that treat the range as their own personal asset that's begrudgingly lent out to other members.
I had to be one of those self appointed RO last week at MCF&G. There happened to be two of us that arrived about the same time and we both were down on the rifle end of the main range. There were two guys down at the pistol end firing away. We were both getting set up. I had my rifle out and loading a couple mags. The other guy had his rifle set up and was sighting down range with his scope. We both had targets ready to post up and were just waiting for the pistol guys to take a break so we could call cold. Next thing I see is one of the pistol guys headed down range.
I tried really hard to be nice and easy about informing them about range safety but I know I can at times come off as an *******. Wasn't too concerned about that this particular time! They claimed they never saw us down at the rifle end. Pretty poor situational awareness if you ask me.
Matt
I have seen this mentality come over the place as well.
I am not one to be barked at. By anybody.....Period.
If you have something to say we can have a discussion. If I see your point and my actions need to be changed I will comply.
Come barking at me and I am not the most attentive person. Be civil.
The new chief out there is a good guy. He is an Ingo member. He has tightened the reins due to the IDIOTS such as the one running .223 and that has to stop. It will only take 1 stray round getting out of the place to cause serious issues. I understand the RO's are volunteers and have the best interests of the place at heart.
Be civil.
Please.

You are annoying at BEST.
You are a dangerous distraction at worst.
Stop it. You are a fun sponge and a source of worry for others at the range.
Nobody wants to hear your expert opinion, we don't really care.
Standing there staring at what others are doing is an invasion of personal space, back the **** off.
When the flag goes down and you yell: "RANGE HOT" everybody knows what that means.
Prior to every time you fire yelling "GOING HOT" makes you sound like a and is distracting to others around you.
I really need to get my own property to go shooting.

Well, that's strange.
The picture shows while editing the thread.
But then disappears when I submit it.
Time for photobucket to die on the vine. Bye-bye.
