i just ordered a new auto ordnance 1911....i have read so many opinions on these, i don't know what to expect...the last several years have been vastly improved over previous editions, so i am expecting to get good service out of this pistol.......

I know auto-ordinance is now a Kahr arms company so I assume the quality and QC will be good. But thats the extent of my Auto Ordinance knowledge.

I have one and it has been a very smooth shooter for me. I read the same things, so you really shouldn't have a problem with it. The pre-Kahr Auto Ordnance slapped together a lot of random parts, so they didn't work nearly as well. Even if you do run into a problem, Kahr will take care of you. Post a report when you get it to the range. :yesway:

The absolute worst pistol I ever owned was a Pre-Kahr Auto Ordinance. It was just dangerous. I cut that gun up into pieces and disposed of it.
That said I have seen the new offerings and if the metallurgy is sound they should be a much better gun than the RIA's I have seen of late.

Not intentionally. I prefer to educate. 3 of 5 people spelled it wrong above. Kahr (which now owns Auto Ordnance) seems to love difficult names as theirs is frequently misspelled also.

    Yea!
I have a new one from Jan.

I worked fine untill I removed the series 80 stuff.

Then the extractor & firing pin stop was loose.

Then I put a Wilson Combat extractor & firing pin stop & it
    works perfectly.

Best 1911 in its price range for sure, Made In USA!
