The show is in two weeks and the .223 ammunition is getting harder and harder to come by.

What do you think the average price will be for a box of 20 rounds will be?

Wide range here, Bubba is probably close to right if you are buying 1000rd cases, but if you are buying only a few 20rd boxes, look to pay more. So sad. So sad.

I would be very happy with .65 per round!

I am thinking of coming in Friday just to pick up some ammunition for fear they will be out by Sunday when my family joins me!

On Sunday we are going to the gun show, the woodworking show and then ending at the reptile show. (Our bearded dragon died and I think we are replacing it with a snake.)

It will be an eventful day.

They can price it however they want but I hope consumers are smart enough to not pay over 40-50 cents a round. If we stick together we can control the prices, to a certain degree at least. :twocents:

How do you do that with the thousands of people who will be at the show? We are a small minority here on the forum and people will be clamoring to pay whatever just to get their hands on some ammo!

    Kind of a Socialistic view??:dunno:

Not really at all. If a group of people get together and decide on a fair price, and actually have enough power to manipulate the market then more power to them. If it's born of the free market then it's part of the free market. Like a monopoly, it's not inherently bad either, it's just a mechanism that spurs change in a market.

I find it very sad that we face the loss of our second amendment, and American citizens act like the capitalist fools who want to take it away.

But like in everything else, the ones with the money make the rules, and those without are left to take the overpriced scraps.

I'm betting $0.50 to .75 for 20 rounds at the low end. Surplus seems to going for about 0.50 in bulk, the last time I bulk ordered it cost $0.10-0.19 per round, yes I'm showing my age!

I have a question for everyone. I understand the Brass cased ammunition is the best, but if you are not into reloading (at least yet) is there any other reasons why someone would only use Brass? Is the steel ok to use in most guns or is there more to it? Thanks!

Do you currently or have you ever smoked the reefer?

.223/5.56 is approximately 350/1k in a normal market.
Granted, it is not currently what I would consider 'normal,' but this is why group buys and/or waiting exists.
