Welcome to INGO! I took my 2 boys (10 and 11 at the time) on the Manistee River Trail 5 years ago.

I am actually planning another trip up there for late next month with my wife and boys to do the full loop of the Manistee River Trail and North Country Trail. I plan on making it a 3 day/2 night trip.

I swear I think I got a picture at the same place with my two boys!

Thanks for the warm welcome and advise on hiking gear!
I'll start looking into buying a Hill bag, and bear bell.

I gave my two boys extremely loud whistles to play with the entire hike, probably just as effective as a bell.
